Community Engagement / Development Worker, Hainworth Wood Community Centre

Are you looking to make a real difference for the local community?

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to lead on engaging the local community in the area around Hainworth Wood Community Centre and develop and deliver a programme of community-based activities to meet the needs of local residents in line with the objectives of the charity.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a self-starter and loves working with people.
  • Has a can-do attitude,
  • Is passionate about making a difference
  • Is able to demonstrate an approach to work that is proactive.
  • Is great at problem solving
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Able to achieve targets and deadlines

You have demonstrated impact through your work or volunteering in a community setting and have at least 2 years’ experience in such a role. You would like to help develop and grow the work of a community centre in Keighley East.

Responsible to: A Member of the Board of Trustees, Hainworth Wood Community Centre

Responsible for: A small team of Volunteers

Hours: 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours per week) flexible

Contract: 12 months Fixed Term, with possibility to extend subject to funding being secured.

Salary:  FTE equivalent £24,496 – 26,845 (Pro-Rata) depending on experience

Location: Based at Hainworth Wood Community Centre, Keighley (also expected to spend time in the community)
